I have the honor to inform you
that the charter of the "Portland" has been thrown up by the charter party and that none of the emigrants are to go.
I examined them yesterday and find almost all willing to go but, as I could no longer allow my name to be connected with the parties, I requested the Contractors to unship them as soon as possible.
